June 5th Nordic Walking for Back Health and Fitness 9am at Fleet Feet, 2624 Broadway Come learn what the fuss is all about. Nordic Walking combines simplicity and accessibility of walking with simultaneous core and upper body conditioning similar to Nordic skiing. The result is a full-body walking workout that can burn significantly more calories and increase upper body strength and fitness. June 9th Walk & Talk: A talk on Global Warming 5:30pm Dan Friedlander leads an intermediate hike (3-4 miles) on Shanahan North trail to Mesa. The hike will explore how ecological change, particularly global warming, will affect our lives and our relationship to the future. June 11th Park(ing) Spaces Day 10am - 2pm, various locations. Visit "Park(ing) Spaces" all over town where businesses adopt a parking space and covert it into a "park" for one day by setting up grass, flowers, trees, chairs, etc. in the parking spot. Events for all ages and abilities, starting out with a bagel breakfast at 9:30 followed by a beginner's bike tour or Boulder.
